In this travel guide, we have the perfect two-day itinerary for Ramgarh, Uttarakhand that covers all the must-see attractions in and around Ramgarh. So pack your bags and head to Ramgarh to experience this paradisiacal beauty.
Day 1
Embark on your weekend getaway at Nathuakhan village, a quaint little village nestled amidst lush greenery. Sitting at a height of 1,940, it is known for its ancient temples which are built in the traditional Kumaoni style of architecture. The village is dotted with sun-kissed mountains and a striking view of the surroundings. Take a stroll around the village and interact with the friendly locals. Our next destination in our Ramgarh itinerary is Tagore Top, a scenic hilltop that inspired Rabindranath Tagore to write some of his famous works. The hilltop offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. After a relaxing afternoon at Tagore Top, take a stroll through the Ramragh Fruit Bazaar or orchards surrounding Ramgarh.
These orchards are famous for their apples, apricots, peaches, and plums. While you are here, make sure to try some of the freshly plucked fruits filled with deliciousness and nutrition. After exploring the orchards, unwind and relax in The Ramgarh Bungalows. This heritage resort is an enigmatic combination of 19th-century colonial charm with world-class modern amenities. We proffer rustic accommodations, doused in intricate artworks and surrounded by scenic views of the orchards. Each room flaunts a unique theme and decor along with incredible furnishings. Take some rest and then head over to our restaurant for a sumptuous dinner. We serve lip-smacking North Indian, Continental and Oriental dishes suitable for every taste palate.
Day 2
Start your day early and head out for a trek to the nearby Mukteshwar Temple, which is located atop a hill. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is surrounded by lush forests. Perched at an elevation of 2,312, it is a sacred pilgrimage site amongst the devotees. The trek is moderately challenging but is worth it for the stunning views of the Himalayas and the valley below. Mukteshwar temple is also known for its hanging cliffs. The famous Chauli ki Jali offers a stunning vista of the mountains and it is a hotspot for adventure activities like rappelling and rock climbing.
After returning from the trek, head to the nearby Bhalu Gaad Waterfall, a popular picnic spot. The cascading waterfall is surrounded by lush green forests and crystal clear water. Take a dip in the cool waters or just relax on the banks and enjoy the scenery. Wrap up your trip with a visit to Ramgarh Sekhawati, an open-air art gallery that showcases exquisite murals and Rajasthani artworks adorning the mansions of the region. Built around the 18th and 19th centuries, the havelis are renowned for their intricate art and crafts. The traditional painting exudes majestic charm and grandeur and depicts scenes from mythology, history and everyday life and is painted in vibrant colours. If you are an art enthusiast and history buff, this place is a must-visit. In the evening, head back to The Ramgarh Bungalows, where you can relax amidst the tranquil surroundings. Revel in the picturesque scenery while indulging in stargazing, or simply unwind in the peaceful environment.
We hope our 2-day itinerary helps you to curate the perfect weekend getaway in Ramgarh. Visit these breathtaking wonders and have an enthralling time amidst the lofty Himalayan mountain ranges.
